英語の面接では、難しい単語をたくさん使う必要はありません。

自分の経験、強み、応募した理由を、短くわかりやすい英語で伝えることが大切です。

たとえば、面接の最初には、

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me.お時間を取っていただき、ありがとうございます。

経験を伝えるときには、

I have five years of experience in customer service.接客業務で5年間の経験があります。

と言えます。

Interviewの意味

interviewは、名詞としても動詞としても使えます。

名詞では、「面接」「インタビュー」という意味です。

I have a job interview tomorrow.明日、仕事の面接があります。

動詞では、「面接する」「インタビューする」という意味です。

The hiring manager interviewed me.採用担当マネージャーが私を面接しました。

受け身にして、

I was interviewed by the hiring manager.採用担当マネージャーの面接を受けました。

とも言えます。

Have an interview with

面接をする会社や人を伝える場合は、have an interview withを使えます。

I have an interview with ABC Company next week.来週、ABC社の面接があります。

I had an interview with the department manager.部門マネージャーとの面接がありました。

Interview for a position

どの職種の面接を受けるのかを伝える場合は、interview forを使います。

I’m interviewing for a marketing position.マーケティング職の面接を受けています。

She interviewed for a management role.彼女は管理職の面接を受けました。

InterviewerとInterviewee

面接を行う人は、interviewerです。

The interviewer asked me about my previous experience.面接官から、これまでの経験について質問されました。

面接を受ける人は、intervieweeですが、日常の会話では、

という言葉もよく使われます。

たとえば、

Interviewの発音

アメリカ英語の発音記号は、次のように表されます。

interview /ˈɪntɚvjuː/

一番強く発音するのは、最初の部分です。

IN-ter-view

日本語では「ビュー」の部分が強くなりやすいのですが、英語では最初の IN-に一番大きな強さがあります。

真ん中の -ter-は弱く短く通り、最後の viewを長く強調しすぎないようにします。
